Gates of Karath-Dur

The gates of Karath-Dur rise before you — thirty feet of iron and ancient granite, carved with the faces of forgotten gods. Vines have forced their way through the stonework. Past the walls, the shape of a great mausoleum is just visible against the grey sky. You have come for the Sunstone. If the cult's scholars are right — and they usually are, about the wrong things — the artifact lies in the vault of the Fallen King, deep beneath the tomb. You have perhaps two days before their expedition arrives. The iron gate stands ajar. Through it, the road is clear but open. On the left, a low wall has crumbled, leaving a gap into the crypt garden beyond.
